Crotalus pricei pricei
While most herpers prefer willardi, I would definitely rather see a twin spot. |
 |
My first twin-spot was found by accident and in probably the hardest range to see pricei in in Arizona -
the Huachucas. I was climbing some rocky outcrops and almost put my hand on it while I reached up onto a rock above me to raise myself up. When I
got to eye-level, I saw this little guy scurrying away just a couple of inches from my hand. Cochise County, AZ. August 2005 |

While heading up to a popular area to herp, Erik and I saw this little guy sunning on the dirt road on
the way up to some talus in the Chiricahuas. Cochise County, AZ. May 2007. |

A trek deep into the Santa Ritas yielded several pricei finds. This neonate that hasn't even had its
first shed was seen out basking. Santa Cruz County, AZ. August 2008. |

This beefy snake had quite the purple tint. Santa Cruz County, AZ. August 2008. |

This snake completed my twinspot ranges in Arizona - Pinalenos. Graham County, AZ. July 2009. |

Really neat pattern on this one. Graham County, AZ. July 2009. |
